Professor Mark Tewdwr-Jones FAcSS FRTPI FRSA FRGS FeRSA AoU is Bartlett Professor of Cities and Regions at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, University College London.
With a background in urban planning, geography, political science and film, Mark is one of the leading planners in higher education globally, and produced 20 books, almost 100 research papers, attracted £25m in research income, and contributed to disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, methodological and outreach fields in the academy, linking social science to science and health, new technology to user experiences, the visual understanding of urban and regional change, public engagement, and evidence-based policy.
Mark has written many books on planning, amongst his recent publications he has published (with Tim Dixon) Urban Futures: City Foresight & City Vison (Policy Press, 2021), (with Peter Hall) Urban and Regional Planning (6th Edition, Routledge, 2020) and his Spatial Planning and Governance: Understanding UK Planning (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012)
He has taught and researched in planning schools for 30 years, and been a visiting professor at Berkeley, Nijmegen, Hong Kong, Western Sydney, New South Wales, Guadalajara, Pretoria, Dublin, and Malta.
