Jeremy Morley is Chief Geospatial Scientist at Ordnance Survey, holding the post since 2015.
He has worked in geospatial research since the mid-90s, starting in the former Dept. Photogrammetry and Surveying at University College London before moving to the University of Nottingham in 2009 as Geospatial Science Theme Leader in the Nottingham Geospatial Institute.
At Ordnance Survey Jeremy leads the Research Team who carry out research and innovation in collaboration with universities, standards bodies and other research organisations. The team also promotes spatial literacy, geospatial education and the use of Ordnance Survey’s geospatial data in higher education.
OS’ research interests span a range from the technological, for example, geospatial and the Internet of Things and Connected & Autonomous Vehicles, through geospatial techniques such as 3D data capture and modelling, to the human and social, such as crowd-sourcing and vernacular geography.
Jeremy’s core expertise lies in remote sensing and geomatics and he has worked extensively on physical mapping and sensing of the environment as reflected in his papers.
